The Victoria Falls Safari Club
The Safari Club is the exclusive wing of The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge which is situated just outside the town of Victoria falls and about ten minutes (by hourly complimentary shuttle) to the Falls themselves. This has the distinct advantage of feeling much more like a safari destination with fantastic views across the bush from every room.
The en-suite rooms themselves are spacious with complimentary Wi-Fi and a private balcony and are larger and more comfortable than the lodge next door. The lodge itself is built on the top of a hill and rises over a few floors giving an impression of being almost tree house like. Below is a waterhole which is frequented by elephants, buffalo and the occasional kudu. Luckily the rooms at the safari club feature a complimentary mini bar so you can enjoy a private sundowner on your balcony.
Visiting the Falls is simple enough to do on your own or the lodge can organise a guide for you. Remember to take some US Dollars for the entrance fee as this can’t be paid in advance and only on arrival. After visiting the Falls, you can walk back up into town to visit the curio stalls and maybe even pop into the Victoria Falls Hotel for afternoon tea on the terrace.
One must do activity while in Vic Falls is the helicopter flight over the Falls. This is best early in the morning or late afternoon. Again, this can be arranged at the lodge but it’s advisable to book in advance to stand a better chance of getting a decent timeslot. If you are keen to do this and haven’t booked already, we will be happy to do so for you. The helipad is very close to the lodge and they will come and collect you from reception.
Otherwise, Victoria Falls Safari Club is a great place to relax either to get over your inbound flight(s) or as the last couple of days on safari. It’s one of our favourites.
